These beads are cut from natural quartz threaded with hair-fine golden rutile, which is where the name comes from. The stone is left unheated and undyed, so the colour you see is the colour the mineral formed with. Strung as a long double-wrap, one bracelet circles the wrist twice.

What you receive

  • Stone: Natural golden rutilated quartz
  • Bead size: 6 mm
  • Length: Double wrap, approx. 34–36 cm (13.4–14.2 in) total
  • Core: Elastic, no clasp

About golden rutilated quartz

Rutilated quartz is clear quartz containing needle-like inclusions of rutile, a titanium dioxide mineral. The needles formed inside the stone as it cooled, and no two stones carry the same pattern. Quartz measures 7 on the Mohs scale.

Fit and sizing

The strand is strung on elastic and designed to wrap twice around an average wrist of 15–18 cm (5.9–7.1 in). Worn as a single long loop it also fits over the hand as a loose bracelet. Because the length is fixed by the bead count, message us if your wrist measures under 14 cm and we will check what is available.

Care

Rutile needles sit inside the quartz, so the surface is smooth and easy to clean with a soft damp cloth. Avoid prolonged direct sun, which can fade the golden tone over years, and store the bracelet away from harder stones that could scratch the quartz.

Common questions

Is the golden rutile natural or lab-grown?

Natural. The needles are rutile, a titanium dioxide mineral that grew inside the quartz as it cooled, and the stone is left unheated and undyed. No two strands carry the same needle pattern. Lab-grown rutilated quartz exists in the trade and is sold as such, but its needles are usually perfectly parallel and evenly spaced.

Is 6 mm too thin for a bracelet?

6 mm is a mid-weight bead, and this piece is a double wrap, so the strand passes the wrist twice — which reads closer to an 8 mm single strand in visual weight while staying lighter. Total length is about 34–36 cm (13.4–14.2 in) unstretched.

Will the elastic stretch out or snap?

The core is a multi-strand elastic cord rather than a single rubber thread, which is what holds up to being wrapped twice. Store it flat rather than hanging, and keep it out of a hot car. Elastic is a wear item — expect a restring after a few years of daily wear.

How do I clean rutilated quartz?

The rutile sits inside the quartz, so the surface is smooth and a soft damp cloth is enough. Avoid prolonged direct sun, which fades the golden tone over years, and store it away from harder stones that could scratch the quartz.

How long does delivery take?

Orders are processed in 1–3 business days from our Shenzhen studio. Standard delivery to the US takes 10–20 business days and costs $8; shipping is free on orders over $70. Express delivery is $15. A tracking number is emailed once the parcel is handed to the carrier.

About this piece

What exactly is this piece made from?

Natural gemstone. Every piece is inspected by hand before it ships. Treatments that are standard in the trade — heat-treated amethyst sold as citrine is the classic example — are explained in our material & treatment guide.

What should I know before ordering?

Each piece is assembled from natural stone, so colour, pattern and exact dimensions vary slightly from the photographs. The specification table above lists what is measured for this piece.

Can I wear it every day, or in water?

The stone itself is not harmed by a splash, but removing it before showering, swimming, sauna or the gym is the single easiest way to make it last. Chlorine and salt water attack elastic over time, and repeated flexing is what eventually wears any cord out.

How should I care for it?

Roll it on rather than stretching it over your hand, wipe it with a soft dry cloth after wearing, and keep it away from perfume and chlorine. Store it flat in the pouch provided, out of direct sun. See our crystal care guide.
