Natural Purple Phantom Quartz Bracelet
Free shipping over $70 · 30-day returns · Inspected by hand
Phantom quartz is quartz that stopped growing, picked up a coating of another mineral, then carried on growing around it. The result is a faint outline — a ghost — of the earlier crystal, visible inside the newer one. In this strand the phantoms carry a purple tone, so every bead holds a slightly different internal scene. There is no way to make two identical, which is either the point or a problem, depending on what you want.

About phantom quartz
Phantom quartz forms when crystal growth pauses, a mineral layer settles on the surface, and growth then resumes — leaving a visible outline of the earlier crystal inside the new one. The purple tone comes from iron and manganese traces. Quartz measures 7 on the Mohs scale.
Fit and sizing
Beads measure 8 mm and the strand runs approximately 17 cm (6.7 in) unstretched on an elastic core, sized for an average wrist. Because the phantoms vary bead to bead, the bracelet photographs differently under different light — if you need a specific look, message us and we will send a photo of the exact piece before shipping.
Care
Wipe with a soft damp cloth. Phantom quartz is quartz, so it is hard enough for daily wear, but the internal fractures that create the phantom pattern can make individual beads more brittle than clear quartz — avoid dropping it on hard floors.

Common questions
What is a phantom in quartz?
A phantom is the outline of an earlier crystal preserved inside a later one. Growth paused, a layer of another mineral settled on the surface, then growth resumed around it — leaving a visible ghost of the smaller crystal inside the bead.
Is the purple colour natural?
The purple tone comes from iron and manganese traces in the growth layers. Dye cannot reproduce an internal outline, so phantoms are not faked by dyeing — but surface dye on pale material does exist in the trade, and it shows as colour pooled in cracks.
Are phantoms visible in every bead?
Not in every bead. A phantom only forms where growth paused, so a strand will show clear beads alongside strongly banded ones. The photos show the actual strand you receive.
How do I care for phantom quartz?
Quartz measures 7 on the Mohs scale and the surface is smooth, so a soft damp cloth is enough. Avoid prolonged direct sun and store it away from harder stones that could scratch it.
How long does delivery take?
Orders are processed in 1–3 business days from our Shenzhen studio. Standard delivery to the US takes 10–20 business days and costs $8; shipping is free on orders over $70. Express delivery is $15. A tracking number is emailed once the parcel is handed to the carrier.

About this piece
What exactly is this piece made from?
Natural gemstone. Every piece is inspected by hand before it ships. Treatments that are standard in the trade — heat-treated amethyst sold as citrine is the classic example — are explained in our material & treatment guide.
What should I know before ordering?
Each piece is assembled from natural stone, so colour, pattern and exact dimensions vary slightly from the photographs. The specification table above lists what is measured for this piece.
Can I wear it every day, or in water?
The stone itself is not harmed by a splash, but removing it before showering, swimming, sauna or the gym is the single easiest way to make it last. Chlorine and salt water attack elastic over time, and repeated flexing is what eventually wears any cord out.
How should I care for it?
Roll it on rather than stretching it over your hand, wipe it with a soft dry cloth after wearing, and keep it away from perfume and chlorine. Store it flat in the pouch provided, out of direct sun. See our crystal care guide.
