This bracelet alternates golden tiger’s eye with black obsidian and clear quartz. The tiger’s eye is the reason to own it: as the light moves, a band of gold slides across each bead — a optical effect called chatoyancy, caused by parallel fibres inside the stone. Photographs catch it; video catches it better; in person it is the thing people notice first.

What you receive

  • Stones: Tiger's eye, black obsidian, clear quartz
  • Bead size: 10 mm
  • Length: Approx. 19 cm (7.5 in), elastic

About tiger's eye and obsidian

Tiger's eye is a quartz variety that replaced fibrous minerals while forming, leaving parallel bands that reflect light in a moving golden band called chatoyancy. It measures 6.5–7 on the Mohs scale and is usually cut en cabochon or as round beads to show the effect.

Fit and sizing

Beads measure 10 mm and the strand runs approximately 19 cm (7.5 in) unstretched. It sits as a regular fit on a larger wrist and a slightly loose fit on an average one, which suits the weight of the stone. Message us if you need a specific length.

Care

Wipe with a soft dry cloth. Tiger’s eye is durable for everyday wear but the chatoyant surface can dull if it is knocked against harder stones, so store it separately. Avoid ultrasonic cleaners, which can loosen the banding over time.

Common questions

Why does the tiger's eye seem to move?

That shifting band of light is chatoyancy. Tiger's eye formed when quartz replaced fibrous crocidolite, leaving parallel fibres inside the stone that reflect light as it turns. It is a structural effect, not a coating or a surface finish.

Is tiger's eye ever dyed?

Natural tiger's eye runs golden to red-brown and is usually sold untreated. Strongly blue material sold as hawk's eye is natural but scarcer; very bright blue or vivid red beads at low prices are often dyed, and the dye sits in the surface fibres rather than through the stone.

Will a 10 mm multi-stone bracelet fit?

The strand measures about 19 cm (7.5 in) unstretched on 10 mm beads, which suits wrists from roughly 16 to 21 cm. The elastic core means no clasp and no adjustment.

How do I care for a mixed-stone strand?

The three stones sit between 5 and 7 on the Mohs scale, so avoid knocking the bracelet against hard edges. Wipe with a soft dry cloth and store it flat so the elastic does not stretch between wears.

How long does delivery take?

Orders are processed in 1–3 business days from our Shenzhen studio. Standard delivery to the US takes 10–20 business days and costs $8; shipping is free on orders over $70. Express delivery is $15. A tracking number is emailed once the parcel is handed to the carrier.

About this piece

What exactly is this piece made from?

Natural gemstone. Every piece is inspected by hand before it ships. Treatments that are standard in the trade — heat-treated amethyst sold as citrine is the classic example — are explained in our material & treatment guide.

What should I know before ordering?

Each piece is assembled from natural stone, so colour, pattern and exact dimensions vary slightly from the photographs. The specification table above lists what is measured for this piece.

Can I wear it every day, or in water?

The stone itself is not harmed by a splash, but removing it before showering, swimming, sauna or the gym is the single easiest way to make it last. Chlorine and salt water attack elastic over time, and repeated flexing is what eventually wears any cord out.

How should I care for it?

Roll it on rather than stretching it over your hand, wipe it with a soft dry cloth after wearing, and keep it away from perfume and chlorine. Store it flat in the pouch provided, out of direct sun. See our crystal care guide.

Crystal meanings described on this page come from tradition, not from medicine. Nothing here is medical advice.
