Natural Fluorite. Fluorite (CaF2) (Mohs hardness 4). Every piece is inspected by hand before it ships. Treatments that are standard in the trade — heat-treated amethyst sold as citrine is the classic example — are explained in our material & treatment guide.

Where do the stones come from?
Brazil, India, Madagascar and Inner Mongolia — varies by stone. Stone is bought in batches, so the exact locality can differ from one piece to the next; where a single origin is given in the specification table above, that is the origin for this batch.
Can I wear it every day, or in water?
The stone itself is not harmed by a splash, but removing it before showering, swimming, sauna or the gym is the single easiest way to make it last. Chlorine and salt water attack elastic over time, and repeated flexing is what eventually wears any cord out.
